Hello My Friends! Welcome!
Today I thought I would share my tips to learn a new language! It will be in 3 parts. First, the first five tips to learn a language. The second video, will be the last five tips to learn a language. And the final video will be my resources for you to learn French.

Yes, now the first five tips!
Watch the Video please.

1. Learn the phonetic alphabet first! Practice it a lot! If you know the phonetic alphabet you can learn to read the true pronunciation in that language.

2. Learn the general rules of grammar. Each language has a grammar structure that is different. Once you know the structures of grammar then you can make any sentence you want.

This includes: for example,
-Sentence structures
-Verb Conjugation: like the ER, IR, RE and Irregular verbs in French
-Verb tenses

3. Make it fun! Yes, the grammar is inevitable but that doesn't mean that it is boring! Make it fun with songs, rhymes, games, Youtube Videos. Also, you can read Blogs, or kids books in that language!

4. Do not buy expensive learning programs. Because if you truly want to learn the language, then all you need is the library and the internet. If you are determined to work hard to learn the language without the expensive programs, you will learn it. You don't need the expensive programs because they will not teach you the everyday language.

And majority of the time the expensive programs will teach you things that you will not use on a daily basis. But only, what to say when you travel to France.

5. Number 4 is true IF you have a foundation of the language already. If you do not have a foundation in the language you want to speak, then I recommend that you take a class for beginners, if you don;t know anything about the language. Because acquiring a good foundation before you can teach yourself.

Yes! It is the first five tips to learn a new language, next week I will tell you the next five tips to learn a new language. You don't want to miss it!

See you soon!

  2. I would love to re-learn some of the French I took in my school days. I recognize a lot of words & phrases but am nowhere near being able to have a conversation with someone in French.

  3. I agree, connect with a native french speaker, join a class and get talking! It's the best way to pick up a proper accent and ''speaking'' words - as oppose to text book dialogue. Great post!
