What I Wore Wednesday! First Post!!

One of my most favorite activities is sitting down for afternoon tea.

I would do it once a week if I could!

For my birthday two weeks ago my husband made a reservation for my mom, mother-in-law and I to have afternoon tea. You don't have to dress up, depending on where you are having tea, but I always do.

Here is my mother-in-law, and my mom when we got back from afternoon tea.
Seems stripes was the look of the day!

Blue and brown striped dress: Clothes Mentor
Brown half tee: from Half Tee
 Pearls: My Husband's grandmother
Wedges: Shoe Carnival

If you have never experienced an afternoon tea, allow me to tell you about it. You sit drinking the tea of your choice while eating scones with raspberry jelly or lemon curd, tea sandwich of all types and the cutest little desserts! By the time you are finished you are more than full and smiling from such a delightful time with your friends and family.

If I could find a group of close friends near me who would enjoy afternoon tea I would most certainly try and create a monthly afternoon tea book club of some type. Have good tea, share in delightful discussion, and enjoy a lovely afternoon would be my idea of a perfect time with my girl friends!

Call me old fashioned but, I truly love all things simple.

My birthday tea was such a wonderful time, full of great conversation and food. And after such a wonderful day I came home to a Red Velvet Cake to share with my family. It really was one of the most wonderful birthdays!
